New A/B Test for Your Vote: Product Tour Page Boosts Software Downloads 85%

This is a great test for two reasons: 1. It shows you can lift conversions on pages other than your landing page and homepage. 2. It shows that sometimes best practices don’t always apply. I hope I haven’t given too much away. Click here to vote on which version you think won.

Keep in mind this is a product tour page for personal budgeting software. It’s cool to see they have a free trial ‘download now’ button on this page. I think a lot of other sites could test a page like this. Even if it’s not a product tour page, think of all the other pages where you might be missing the opportunity to get a lift in conversions.

Take a look at the test, vote for the one you think won, and then please do post a comment about why you think the winning image won. http://whichtestwon.com/archives/4823

New A/B Test for Your Vote: Which Landing Page Won … on Tuesday Afternoons?

Some of you complained that last week’s test was too easy so this week, we’ve got a doozy for you.  Can you tell which landing page convinced 17% more visitors to fill out a lead generation form… on Tuesday afternoons?

Yes, dayparting has entered the A/B testing world — and I’m fascinated by the results.  Check it out and then give your opinion:

P.S. New A/B Test for Your Vote: Email Newsletter Opt-in Form Gets 52.8% Bump

Who wouldn’t like 52.8% more email opt-ins?  This a/b test for The New York Public Library proves a few design changes can make a world of difference. Click to see if you can guess which version won.

A quick side note: We love your comments.  Everyone learns so much from the lively conversation in the comments under “test results.”

In fact, a couple of months ago, I gave our Senior Reporter Natalie Myers an incentive to publish tests that are ‘comment-worthy’: she’ll get a bottle of fine champagne every time the site garners another 1,000 comments.  With your help, this may be the week she’ll land her first bottle. Luckily there’s a fine wine store right next door to our offices.  The split second WhichTestWon hits 1,000 comments, she’s running over there!

Then she’ll Twitter @WhichTestWon to let everyone know which bottle she selected :-)

So, take a look at this week’s test, and then if you feel so moved, please do leave a comment.  http://whichtestwon.com/archives/4727
