New A/B Test for Your Vote: Google Tests Adding a Blue Box to Competing Page Elements

What difference does a blue box make? For Google, it increased conversions 50.5% — which is a lot considering the gobs of  traffic Google gets. Check out this week’s test and tell us why you voted for the winner or loser.

Keep in mind the goal of the test was to encourage visitors to install a Google Maps driving directions gadget on their website. People who landed on this page were most likely to be business owners looking to add a driving directions feature to their site.

Please post a comment after voting and tell us what you thought about the test this week. http://whichtestwon.com/archives/5161

Also, if you happen to be attending the Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association’s annual summit next Tuesday, September 28, feel free to flag me down and say hi. I’ll be speaking at 11 a.m. at a “Geek Out” session about testing and again at 3:30 p.m. on a panel about PPC optimization.

New A/B Test for Your Vote: Which Copy on the Call to Action Button Wins?

This week we have one of those small change = big impact A/B tests. The winning call to action button copy (everything else was identical) got a 171% lift in clicks. Check it out by going here and voting for the winner.

A web design agency conducted this homepage test in efforts to increase the traffic to its ‘Contact Us’ form. It’s about as simple a test as you could imagine and something every marketer could implement today – if you haven’t already (which you should!)

After voting, please post a comment telling us what you thought about this week’s test. http://whichtestwon.com/archives/5028

Also, a BIG announcement – We now have 75 real-life test examples and results in our ‘Past Test’ archives. So don’t forget to go there and test out your know-how some more.

New A/B Test for Your Vote: Which Checkout Page Boosted Sales by 23%?

If you guessed last week’s test wrong, I can bet this week’s will be a bit of a challenge as well. Only this time, there are a lot of changes between Version A and Version B – so look closely. The payoff, though, was huge. A 23% lift in actual purchases. See if you can guess which is the winning checkout page template.

This is a template test. The copy, and number and type of checkout form fields were the same in both versions.

Vote for the one you think won, and then please do post a comment about why you think the winning image won.

Also, I just noticed last week’s test had 40 comments and the week before had 38 comments. That’s a lot of great discussion going on. Trust me, we know how valuable your comments are. It adds so much to the results write up, so thank you!
