New A/B Test for Your Vote: Sad Young Woman vs. Haggard Housewife
These two homepages are absolutely identical — except one has the photo of a sad young woman and the other of a frazzled housewife. Can you guess which version got 33% more response button clicks from organic search traffic?
Side story about this test: when our senior reporter Natalie Myers first wrote it up, her headline was “young woman vs older woman.”
Which made me mentally picture a grey-haired boomer. Turns out the ‘older’woman in the photo is maybe in her 30s. “She’s younger than I am,” I yelled out. “You can’t call that ‘older!”
Well, OK technically Natalie was correct. But I changed the headline anyway.
Take a look at the test, vote for the one you think won, and then please do post a comment about why you think the winning image won so conclusively (we have our own theories) http://whichtestwon.com/archives/4673
P.S. Thanks to WhichTestWon reader Paul Gailey for submitting this week’s test!
